George E. Myers III

George E. Myers III, 70, died, January 1, 2022, at the Scott County Hospital, Scott City.

He was born on June 15, 1951, in Detroit, Mich., the son of Theodore and Lyda Kaye (Jones) Myers.

He had been a resident of Canadian, Tex., from 1994-97, moving to Scott City in August of 1997 to work for Oneok as a natural gas plant operator.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church and Scott Community Golf Course both of Scott City, and the Monahans Community Christian Theatre, Monahans, Tex.

On July 24, 1982, he married Jessie Davila in Monahans, Tex. She survives.

Other survivors include his daughters, Crystal Heim, and Amber Myers, Scott City; sons, Alex Myers and Matthew Bergner and wife, April, Scott City; brother, Ted Myers, Ann Arbor, Mich.; sister, Connie Houston, Detroit, Mich.; and six grandchildren, Braylin and Kendall Heim, Leightyn Heim, Jadyn Heim, Bella Myers, Ryann Myers, and Peyton Bergner, all of Scott City.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, James Myers.

A memorial service was held on Jan. 6 at the First Baptist Church, Scott City, with Rev. Kyle Evans presiding.

Inurnment was in the Scott County Cemetery.
