Harry E. Sharpe

Harry E. Sharpe, 87, died Oct. 17, 2024, at the Scott County Hospital in Scott City.

He was born on Sept. 30, 1937, in Scott County, the son of Clive Gay and Nellie Marguerite (Scott) Sharpe.

A lifetime resident of Scott City, he was a trucker, electrician, micro-technician and cowboy.

He was a member of the United Methodist Church, Scott City, Lane County Saddle Club, and was an EMT in Scott City for 15 years.

On June 2, 1957, he married Virginia Spitzer in Scott City. She survives.

Other survivors include his daughters, Bonnie Sharpe, Wichita, Lori Jeffers and husband, John, Lincoln, Nebr., and Lisa Redburn, Hugoton; sons, Myron Sharpe and wife, Holly, Konawa, Okla., and Gary Sharpe and wife, Sandy, Derby; brothers, Harley Sharpe and wife, Ora, Scott City, John Sharpe, Loveland, Colo., and Hiriam Sharpe, Scott City; a sister, Helen Ackley and husband, Bill, Hutchinson; eight grandchildren, Blaine Redburn, Jessica Reinerio, Kelcey Benson, Seth Sharpe, Kylie Heginbotham, Katie Sharpe, and Ethan and Mitchell Jeffers; and 12 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Clive J. Sharpe; sisters, Vivian Sharpe, Myrtle Rohr, Trilla Hayes and Thada Holt; and twin great-granddaughters, Dakota and Nevada Redburn.

The funeral service was held on Oct. 22 at the United Methodist Church with Rev. Jeff Goetzinger and Don Williams presiding.

Interment will be in the Scott County Cemetery.
