Jeff Arnold

Jeffrey S. Arnold, 66, died with his wife and daughter by his side on Fri., May 26, 2023, at Hospice House in Hutchinson.

He was born on Jan. 27, 1957, in Neenah, Wisc., the son of the late Oscar H. Norton and Betty (Jones) Hoffman. Jeff was adopted on May 10, 1957, by the late Laurence Lester and Pearl Loretta (Martin) Arnold of New Lisbon, Wisc. Barbara Sharp served as church secretary and Jeff’s Honorary Mom.

Jeff married Julie Petty on Dec. 24, 2003. They were happily married for 19-1/2 years and the mainstay of their lives was the faith they shared in Jesus Christ. She survives.

Jeff attended the University of Wisconsin University- Madison studying to be a surgeon. He decided to take a year off to learn more about the Bible at the University of Northwestern-St. Paul. That is when he was called to follow Jesus Christ.

He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Preaching Ministry from Central Christian College of the Bible, and Master’s Degree in Old Testament and Language Arts at Lincoln Christian College and Seminary, Lincoln, Ill. Jeff was set apart to the ministry of the Gospel of Christ. His ordination took place at Elmo, Mo., on Sept. 25, 1991.

He preached at Elmo Christian Church in Elmo, Mo., Community Christian Church, Scott City, Laredo Christian Church (Student Ministry), Laredo, Mo., Bushnell Christian Church, Bushnell, Ill., and South Hutchinson Christian Church, South Hutchinson. He taught Hebrew at Manhattan Christian College and was a Chaplain at Good Samaritan in Hutchinson.

Jeff loved his friends at Life Recovery Coffee Corner, 5th and Adams, playing dominos with the Good Samaritan men’s group, working puzzles, collecting coins, found great joy spending time with his grandkids and great-grandkids, and above all, enjoyed studying and teaching the Word of God and he did that with numerous Bible studies throughout the week.

Other survivors include his daughter, Melissa Brau and husband, Derek; son, Nate Arnold and wife, Amber; stepson Michael McEachern and wife, Courtney; step-daughter, Michele Gonzalez; sister, Gayle Holte and husband, Jim; grandchildren Jaxson, Jordynn, Brooke and Ella Kough; Carol, Aliza and Gideon Arnold; Maverick McEachern; and Gilbert, Andrew, Kyla and Desirea Larralde; and greatgrandchildren Kingston and Bentlee Larralde.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and maternal and paternal grandparents.

A memorial service will be Sat., June 3, 10:00 a.m., at Solid Rock Bible Church (formerly South Hutchinson Christian Church), 111 E. 1st Avenue, South Hutchinson.
