Jerry Buxton

Jerry W. Buxton, 56, died Feb. 25, 2024, at the Scott County Hospital, Scott City.

He was born on Aug. 2, 1967, in Walsenburg, Colo., the son of Jack and Velma (Reeves) Buxton.

A resident of Scott City since 1972, moving from Walsenburg, he was the chief financial officer for Finney County Feedyard.

Jerry was a member of the Pence Community Church, Pence, was a past Scott City Councilman and Scott County Commissioner, and enjoyed memberships many area golf courses.

On Sept. 2, 1989, he married Jynette Eckels in Shallow Water. She survives.

Other survivors include a daughter, Emily Buxton, Scott City; mother, Scott City; brother, Rob Buxton and wife, Lil, of Norway; two grandsons, Camden and Brexton Mulligan; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father; daughter, Alexis Buxton; fatherin- law, Eugene Eckels; and mother-in-law, Ann Eckels.

A memorial service will be held Sat., March 2, 2:00 p.m., at the First Baptist Church, Scott City, with Don Williams presiding. The service will be live-streamed at www.priceandsons.com or https://evt.live/jbuxton.

There will be no calling times.
