JoDe Appel

JoDe Rowe Appel, 63, died on Dec. 26, 2024, after a brave battle with cancer.

She was born on Dec. 3, 1961, in Scott City to Owen and Maudie Rowe.

JoDe was a devoted wife, sister, aunt and friend. She was married to her beloved husband, James Appel, until his passing in 2021.

A longtime member of the VFW Auxiliary, JoDe was dedicated to serving veterans and their families, and she volunteered her time and energy to numerous community causes. Her selflessness and love for others were evident in everything she did.

She is survived by her loving sisters, Penny Andrasek, Janice Herndon and Beverly Yeager and husband, Curtis; brother, Bruce Rowe and wife, Rose; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will miss her deeply.

JoDe was also preceded in death by her parents, and brothers, Craig and Butch Rowe.

A memorial service celebrating JoDe’s life will be held on Sunday, Nov. 30, 2:00 p.m., in the Healy Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the VFW Auxiliary in JoDe’s memory.

JoDe will always be remembered for her kindness, her unwavering strength, and her dedication to her family and community.

Though she is no longer with us, her spirit will continue to inspire all who knew her.
