Joel Rene Reyna, 66, died on October 3, 2026, at St. Luke’s Hospital, Kansas City, Mo.

He was born on March 18, 1960, in El Campo, Tex., the son of Renaldo and Tiadora Vera Reyna.

A resident of Scott City since 1997, moving from Brownfield, Tex., and was a mechanic and worked for B&H Paving for 30 years.

He was a member of the Catholic faith.

Joel loved working as a mechanic. He was a good boss, enjoyed listening to music, was a good provider, and loved his children and grandchildren.

Joel and Aurora Reyna had been together since 1991 and were married in 2018 in Scott City. She survives.

Other survivors include six children, Jenette Reyna, Brownfield, Tex., James Reyna, Brownfield, Robert Luna, Immokalee, Fla., Balentin Luna, Scott City, Adam Luna, Scott City, and Miracle Leal, Scott City; a sister, Mamie Guetierez, Lubbock, Tex.; and 17 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Jose R. Reyna, Jesus R. Reyna and Juan Gonzalez; a son, Jeremy Reyna; and a grandson, Brandon Luna.

Visitation will be held on Thurs., Oct. 8, from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., at Price and Sons Funeral Home, 401 S. Washington, Scott City.

The funeral service will be held on Fri., Oct. 9, 10:30 a.m., at the First Baptist Church, Scott City, with Pastor Kyle Evans presiding.

Interment will be in the Scott County Cemetery.
