Kyle D. Glunz

God’s pick-up men arrived on Nov. 14, 2023, for Kyle D. Glunz after his lifelong ride with a score of 87. Kyle’s final out was at Park Lane Nursing Home, Scott City.

Kyle was born on August 7, 1936, to Fred and Lela Glunz in Elsie, Nebr.

Kyle was welcomed home by two sisters and later, four more sisters and one brother.

After graduating from Elsie High School in 1954, he married Kay Kerchal in 1957 and to this union, three children were born. Kyle attended McCook Junior College and went on to graduate from Kearny State College in 1961.

After graduation, he began a career in education and coaching in Upland, Nebr., and later pursued a career in agri-business which took the family to Scott City.

He later married Karalea Crouch in Leoti.

Later in his agribusiness career, he moved to the Goodland and Burlington, Colo., area where he retired.

Kyle was a cowboy. He was instrumental in helping start the rodeo club while attending Kearny State College. Kyle was a bull rider, a roper and a horseman. He continued to enjoy watching rodeos throughout his life.

Kyle cherished his family above all and was always eager to talk about his children and grandchildren. Kyle was a good friend, always ready to extend a helping hand.

Kyle was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Fred; a sister, Donna Peterson; and bothers-in-law, Robert Hutchinson II, Jerry Peterson, Ron Spadoni, Rod Gifford, Alan Detwiler and Jim Lanthrip.

He is survived by his sisters, Alberta Hutchinson, Joan (Paul) Sullivan, Janese Gifford, Linda Detwiler and Cheri Lanthrip; his three children, Kindra (Gary) Mulch, Karma (Randy) Huck and Greg (Karla) Glunz; nine grandchildren, Matt (Allison) Mulch, Bart (Taryn) Mulch, Grant (Afton) Huck, Garrett (Aubrey) Huck, Rachel (Jimmy) DeAndrea, Colter (Emily) Shore, Myles Glunz, Dylan (Auroa) Glunz and Jade (Brett) Crittenden; and 16 great-grandchildren, Chandler (Joelle) Reams, London Reams, Lakely, Alba and Barren Mulch, Farrah, and Marrin Huck, Owen and Luke Huck, Reese and Oakley DeAndrea, Stella Shore, and Chasen, Halle, Lyndon and Kelton Crittenden; one great-greatgranddaughter, Hayden Reams; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A small, private family memorial will be held followed by a Celebration of Life at a later date.
