Larry O. Wewer

Larry O. Wewer, 80, O’Fallon, Ill., formerly of Wichita, died on August 1, 2022, at St. Elizabeth Hospital, O’Fallon, Ill.

Larry was born May 15, 1942, in Scott City to Joseph Andrew and Mary Agnes (Kissinger) Wewer.

He married Dorothy Gleue on May 26, 1962, in Garden City. Together they shared 60 wonderful years of marriage. She survives.

Other survivors include his children, Valerie S. Cramer, Garden City, Joseph A. Wewer and wife, Terri, Normal, Ill., and Melody R. Dock and husband, Dave, O’Fallon, Ill.; one sister, Donna Gaschler, Modoc; six grandchildren, Katie A. Cramer, Jessica C. Wewer, Joshua A. Wewer, Kayelyn R. Wewer, Benjamin Dock and Hannah Dock; and one great-grandson, Jaxon.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Larry A. Wewer; one sister and two brothers.

For many years, Larry spent his working career as a technician with MJB Heating and Cooling in Derby.

Larry enjoyed collecting, building and flying radio control airplanes for many years. He was involved in show team clubs, including the Air Capital Eagles Show Team and Wichita Radio Control Club (WRCC), both in Kansas. His collection brought him years of joy and connected him with lifelong friends.

He also enjoyed radio control race cars, a pastime he shared with his sons, Joe and Larry.

Larry loved his family dearly and the times they shared together. He was always teasing and joking with his beloved grandchildren, friends and family.

His loss leaves a painful void but his memory will be cherished forever.
