Leanna (Tindall) Linden

Leanna (Tindall) Linden, 86, loving mother, grandmother and devoted friend to many, died peacefully on Nov. 25, 2023.

She was born Nov. 10, 1937, in Ransom, the elder daughter of Eldon and Irene (McKenzie) Marcy.

Early in her life her family moved from a Trego County farm to a farm near Selkirk, in Wichita County.

She was active in 4-H throughout her youth. She was very proud that she had raised, then shown at the Kansas State Fair, a hog that won overall State Grand Champion.

She attended high school in Leoti, graduating in 1955, then graduated from The Dominican School of Nursing, Great Bend, becoming a Registered Nurse in 1958. Her love of nursing and helping others carried her through her 45-year career, most of which was spent at the Lane County Hospital, Dighton.

She came to Dighton in 1972 with her husband, Bill Tindall, and son, Randy Tindall.

She provided Lane County residents loving care for almost 30 years, including doing doubleduty for about 10 years as the USD 482 school nurse.

She was honored to be elected to serve for several years on Dighton’s City Council. She loved her community and the people who made Dighton a wonderful place to live.

Bill died in 1980. She later married Arnold Linden and they had many good years together.

Leanna enjoyed bowling, bingo, crochet, supper club and rooting for the Royals, Chiefs and Wildcats. In her younger adult years, she enjoyed traveling the world. She and Bill went on many trips including tours of Europe, the Caribbean, and South America.

She is survived by her son, Randy, and wife, Renee; and four grandchildren, Kendall, Cassandra, Kallista and Ethan, all of whom live in Las Vegas, Nev.

She was preceded in death by Bill and Arnold, and her only sibling, her sister, Aneth, who lived in Wichita.

Visitation will be Fri., Dec. 1, from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., at Boomhower Funeral Home, in Dighton. A Celebration of Life will be held Sat., Dec. 2, 10:00 a.m., at Dighton’s Bible Fellowship Church, 152 KS23 Hwy., followed immediately by a graveside service at the Dighton Cemetery.

Lunch will follow at the church.
