Lewis Semmel

Lewis Eugene Semmel, 85, died on May 22, 2023, at his home in Lamar, Colo.

He was born on Jan. 22, 1938, in Woodward, Okla., to Adolf and Mary (May) Semmel.

Lewis had owned and operated Scotty’s Body Shop, was a volunteer firefighter, drove the school activity bus and was a regular route driver for USD 466 (Scott County), later moving to Goddard where he drove a school bus route and was a camp host at Cheney Lake.

He is survived by five daughters, one adopted daughter, one foster son, three siblings, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, including Monty and Marsha Turley and their family who provided care for Lewis for the last several years.

A memorial service will be held on Sat., July 1, 2:00 p.m., at Price and Sons Funeral Home, Scott City, with Pastor Don Williams officiating.

Inurnment will follow at the Scott County Cemetery.
