Lowell L. Rudolph
Lowell L. Rudolph, 93, died Aug. 3, 2024, at Park Lane Nursing Home in Scott City.
Lowell was born on Jan. 5, 1931, to Lloyd C. and Estella B (Hollister) Rudolph in Scott City. He was the last surviving child of his parents.
Lowell started his school years in a oneroom school house, known as District 5 - The Rudolph School - located on his parents’ property. He continued his education at Scott Community High School, graduating with the class of 1948.
Lowell started working with his father and brothers on the family farm during his teenage years.
In 1953, he joined the U.S. Army, serving his country at Fort Whittier, Aka., during the Korean War. After being released from active service in 1954, he continued to serve in the U.S. Army Reserves until his honorable discharge on Jan. 6, 1961.
After his active service, Lowell returned to Kansas to join his father and brothers on the family farm. Upon his father’s passing, Lowell began transitioning into retirement in 1999. He was a lifelong farmer and rancher.
Lowell married Patricia L. Hollingsworth on March 12, 1955.
His survivors include a daughter, LuAnn E. Buehler and husband, Jon, Scott City; a son-in-law, Tom Moore, Scott City; five grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren; and numerous other family and friends.
Lowell was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a brother who died at birth; sisters, Marguerite Rose, Florence Japhet and Joyce (died in infancy); a brother, John Rudolph; and one daughter, Kathleen Moore.
A funeral service celebrating Lowell’s life will be held on Fri., August 9, 10:30 a.m., at the United Methodist Church, 412 S College St., Scott City.
