Manuel Rios, Jr.

Manuel Rios Jr., 79, died, May 16, 2022, at the Scott County Hospital, Scott City.

H e was born on Jan. 7, 1943, in Laredo, Tex., the son of Manuel Rios, Sr., and Hortencia Garcia Rios. A resident of Scott City since 1991, moving from Holcomb, he was a retired farm mechanic.

He was a member of St. Jospeh Catholic Church, Scott City.

On Nov. 30, 1963, he married Virginia Camacho in Stamford, Tex. She died on April 7, 2008, in Scott City.

Survivors include his three sons, Roy Rios, Andrew Rios and Alex Rios, all of Scott City; three daughters, Olivia Enriquez, Debbie Oronia and Laurie Rios, all of Scott City; one brother, Tony Rios, Garden City; eight sisters, Juanita Otero, Holcomb, Ramona Gandarilla, Holcomb, Mary Garcia, Holcomb, Lupe Rios, Garden City, Elena Rios, Denver, Colo., Francis Rios, Dodge City, Anita Rios Tretto, Dodge City, and Betsy Villanueva, of Texas; 15 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Pete and Andrew Rios; and one sister, Carmen Jurado.

A vigil service was held May 18 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Scott City.

Funeral service was held May 19 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Fr. Don Bedore presiding.
