Martin A. ‘Sandy’ Binns

Martin A. “Sandy” Binns, 81, died, June 9, 2022, at the Scott County Hospital, Scott City.

He was born on March 24, 1941, in Scott City, the son of Samuel Lee and Ines Evelyn (Needles) Binns.

A lifetime resident of Scott City, he work for the U.S. Postal Service for 40 years.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War serving in the 173rd Airborne unit. He was also a VFW and American Legion member.

On Feb. 19, 1997, he married Kelly J. Biggerstaff in Las Vegas, Nev. She survives.

Other survivors include three children, Andrew, Wichita, Kevin and wife, Cassie, Claflin, and Destiny, Hoisington; one brother, Clifford L. “Pete” Binns and wife, Emma Jean, Scott City; one sister, Jo Ellen Wimp and husband, Don, Oswego; seven grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Allen and Jim Binns; and two sisters, Betty and Nancy.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
