Mary Murray

Mary A. Murray, 60, died, April 17, 2023, in Greeley County from a motor vehicle accident.

She was born on March 26, 1963, in Oberlin, the daughter of Dale Clinton and Agnes Marie (Koerperich) Swank. A resident of Scott City since 2010, moving from Pence, she was a Registered Nurse.

She was a member of the Apostolic Church in Garden City.

On Nov. 10, 1990, she married Virgil G. Murray in Garden City. He survives.

Other survivors include 10 children, Lana Mae Swann, Garden City, Amanda Lynn Pfaff, Garden City, Carla Marlene Threlkeld, Amarillo, Tex., Daniel Lee Pfaff, Elizabethtown, Ky., Elizabeth Ruth Murray, Garden City, Matthew Robert Murray, Scott City, Emily Alice Murray, Scott City, Deborah Vera Murray, Scott City, Priscilla Evonne Murray, Scott City, and Melissa Victoria Johnson, Sioux Falls, S.D.; mother, Agnes M. Swank, Garden City; four brothers, David Swank, Othello, Wash., Justin Swank, Garden City, Tim Swank, Garden City, and Dale Swank, Edmond, Okla.; three sisters, Helen Gibson, Andover, Eleanor Augustine, Lenora, and Louise Elmore, Adams, Okla.; and 30 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father and one brother, Robert Swank.

A graveside service was held April 18 at the Lakin Cemetery with Brother James Charles presiding.
