Maurice Dean Jeffries

Maurice Dean Jeffries, 86, died Dec. 22, 2021, at St. Catherine Hospital, Garden City.

He was born on Jan. 19, 1935, in Modoc, the son of Forrest Franklin and Mabel Leoti (Shearmire) Jeffries.

Dean had been a resident of Leoti from 1960 until 2012 when he moved to Scott City. In 2014, he moved to Garden City.

Dean was an AA member for 44 years.

He was the owner and operator of Jeffries Electric in Leoti until the late 1990s when he began working for Maple Creek Farms as project manager for seven years before he retired.

On Aug. 12, 1954, he married Mona Rhea Burgess in Garden City. She died on Nov. 23, 2018, in Garden City.

A memorial service will be held on Sat., Jan. 8, 2:00 p.m., at Price and Sons Funeral Home, Scott City. The funeral service will be live-streamed at www.priceandsons.com.
