Mona J. Heitschmidt

Mona J. Heitschmidt, 67, died March 2, 2024, at Park Lane Nursing Home in Scott City.

She was born on March 8, 1956, in Scott City, the daughter of Leonard and Ruth (Frank) Steffens, Jr. A lifetime resident of Scott City, she was a secretary for Brookover Cattle Company in Scott City for almost 30 years.

She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Scott City.

Survivors include her daughters, Alesha Heitschmidt and Chelsea Moses-Heitschmidt, both of Manhattan; a son, Josh Heitschmidt, Miller, Mo.; sisters, Becky Bryant, Broken Arrow, Okla., and Sherry Hickey, Scott City; a brother, Johnny Steffens, Mulberry; five grandchildren, Morgen Roberts, Scott City, Raigen Wilson, Manhattan, and Carley Heitschmidt, Lakyn Heitschmidt and Nova Heitschmidt, all of Miller, Mo.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

The funeral service will be held Fri., March 8, 2:00 p.m., at the First Baptist Church, Scott City, with Rev. Kyle Evans presiding.

Interment will be in the Scott County Cemetery.
