Norma Jean Binns Sherwin
Norma Jean Binns Sherwin died April 14, 2025, at Park Lane Nursing Home in Scott City.
She was born on Dec. 18, 1932, in Winfield, the daughter of Anton and Ruth (Gottlob) Dvorak.
In 1950, Norma graduated from Scott Community High School. She was a resident of Scott City since 1949, moving from Winfield.
She was an Avon representative for 50 years.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Scott City. Norma was a Cub Scout den mother, a round and square dancer, an RV traveler, and a master flower gardener.
On April 8, 1950, she married James Edward Binns in Clayton, N.M. He died on May 3, 2000, in Austin, Tex.
On Sept. 22, 2001, she married Warren Sherwin at Camp Lakeside in Scott County. He died on Nov. 4, 2023, in Scott City.
Survivors include her son, Tony Binns and wife, Leanna, Leoti; grandson, T.J. Binns and wife, Amy; granddaughters, Janene Dawson and husband, Dave, Amy Hamblin and husband, Chris, and Jenny LaGesse and partner, Larry Mortazavi; four great-grandsons, one great-great-granddaughter; one son-in-law, John LaGeese and wife, Terese, Lawrence; stepdaughters, Rhonda Ashworth and husband, Steve, Amsterdam, Netherlands, Brenda Sherwin, Jacksonhole, Wyo., and Shelly Sherwin, Douglas, Ariz.; two step-granddaughters, three step-grandsons and one step-great-greatgranddaughter.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Diane LaGesse; stepson, Scott Sherwin; and step-daughter, Karen Sherwin, Visitation will be Mon., April 21, from 11:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m., and Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Price and Sons Funeral Home, 401 S. Washington Street, Scott City, Ks.
The funeral service will be held Wednesday, 2:00 p.m., at Price and Sons Funeral Home with Pastor Don Williams presiding.
Interment will be in the Scott County Cemetery.
