Richard M. Lowenthal

Richard M. Lowenthal, 71, died on October 18, 2021, at the Scott County Hospital, Scott City.

H e was born on July 29, 1950, in Hays, the son of Alfred Jr. and Ruth (Hueftle) Lowenthal

He had been a resident of Scott City since 1972, moving from Colby. He retired from Midwest Energy as a field service representative in 2014.

He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Oakley and Colby, and a past president and member of the Scott City Country Club.

On April 20, 1985, he married Kathy Unrein in Scott City. She survives.

Other survivors include a son, Blake Lowenthal and wife, Rhiannon, Topeka; two daughters, Jackie Eastland and husband, Toby, Prosper, Tex., and Janessa Lowenthal, Overland Park; a brother, David, of Lawrence; a sister, Deb Teeter and husband, Ron, Lawrence; and two granddaughters, Taylor and Katelyn Eastland.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Jeff Lowenthal.

A memorial service will be held on Tues., Oct. 26, 10:30 a.m., at the United Methodist Church, Scott City, with Rev. Larry Danforth presiding.

Inurnment will be in the Oakley Cemetery.

There will be no calling times.
