Robert E. ‘Bob’ O’Dea

Robert E. “Bob” O’Dea, 61, died September 14, 2021, at his home in Scott City.

He was born on July 15, 1960, in Smyrna, Tenn., the son of Patrick Bernard and Alice June (Gerver) O’Dea. Bob worked for Ecolab for 25 years and most recently for the Kansas Department of Transportation.

He was a member of the Community Christian Church, Scott City.

On Nov. 26, 1983, he married Brenda Kay Greenlee in McCook, Nebr. She survives.

Other survivors include one daughter, Mikayla Wiechman and husband, Brian, Scott City; two sons, Mitchell O’Dea and wife, Caitlin, Scott City, and Jared O’Dea and wife, Cozetta, Scott City; his mother, of Scott City, two brothers, Mike O’Dea, North Dakota, and Scott O’Dea and wife, Michelle, Lincoln, Nebr.; two sisters, Voleta Karel and partner, Leigh Dugdale, North Platte, Nebr., and Betty Cummins and husband, Jan, Olathe; seven grandchildren, Brooklyn Wiechman, Ryker Wiechman, Shannon O’Dea, Liam O’Dea, Ember O’Dea, Zoey O’Dea, and Arrabella O’Dea; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and two aunts.

He was preceded in death by his father.

There are no calling times.

A memorial service will be held Mon., Sept. 20, 2:00 p.m., at Community Christian Church, Scott City, with Rev. Scott Wagner presiding.

Memorials, in lieu of flowers, may be made to Community Christian Church in care of Price and Sons Funeral Homes, Box 553, Scott City, Ks., 67871.

Inurnment will be in the Indianola Cemetery, Red Willow County, Nebr., at a later date.
