Shane Michael McBride

Shane Michael Mc-Bride, 55, died, Sept. 7, 2023, at his home in Scott City.

Shane was born Jan. 12, 1968, in Goodland. He grew up on a farm outside of Indianola, Nebr.

He served in the United States Army where he obtained his GED.

Shane married Shari Jones of McCook, Nebr., on Nov. 19, 1988. They mutually separated in 2016.

Shane worked as an oil field tester for Trilobite Testing for many years. His most recent employment was at Love’s Truck Stop in Scott City were he enjoyed his coworkers and visiting with members of the community.

Shane was a hard worker his entire life, overcoming many obstacles. He enjoyed fishing, camping, riding motorcycles, listening to music and gardening. He was a man of many hobbies.

Although he took great pride in both his daughters and was very proud of the life they built, his greatest joy was being Papa Shane to his grand babies, lighting up anytime he talked about them, and he always had a picture to show.

He is survived by two daughters, Santanna Zeller and husband, Corey, of Colorado, and Shanea Kasperbauer and husband, Tyler, of Iowa; estranged wife, Shari Mc-Bride, Colorado; brother, Sean McBride, Nebraska; father, Jim McBride, Nebraska; four grandchildren, Mirabella and Landon Zeller, and Maisyn and Collin Kasperbauer; along with many nieces, nephews and friends who were like family to him.

He was preceded in death by his in-laws, Jennifer and Michael “Mic” Jones; step-mother, Ida McBride; brother, Shannon Warren McBride; niece, Sarah-Jean Mc-Bride; and his beloved dogs, Sophie and Apollo.

In accordance with Shane’s request, no funeral service will be held.
