Steven J. Blickenstaff
Steven J. Blickenstaff, 71, died, Jan. 4, 2023, in Overland Park.
H e was born on April 4, 1951, in Garden City, the son of William and Mary Maurine (Duff) Blickenstaff.
Steve was a resident of Scott City until 1983, moving to Garden City and then to Overland Park in 2013.
Steve graduated from Scott Community High School in 1969. Following high school graduation, Steve attended Kansas State University and received a bachelors degree in agriculture economics.
In 1973, he joined his father after college in the agriculture industry. Steve and his father developed Blick’s Agriculture that later turned into Blick’s, Inc., a multi-regional wholesale fertilizer company.
Steve sold Blick’s, Inc., in the early 2000s. He spent his retired time in Cabo San Lucas and Kansas City with his children and grandchildren.
Steve was a past member of the United Methodist Church in Scott City. His other memberships include Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity of Manhattan, Anthem Masonic Lodge No. 283 of Scott City, and the Isis Shriners of Salina.
He was a big supporter of Kansas State University athletics, the KSU Alumni Association, and was a Founding Member of the Colbert Hills County Club, Manhattan.
On Aug. 15, 1971, he married Nancy Greenlee in Scott City.
Survivors include his two daughters, Julie Lenz and husband, Mathew, Overland Park, and Lisa Morris and husband, Johnathon, Leawood; six grandchildren, Tate Lenz, Addison Lenz and Jamison Lenz, all of Overland Park, and Jacob Morris, Lukas Morris and Camden Morris, all of Leawood.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The funeral service will be Sat., Jan. 14, 10:30 a.m., at the First United Methodist Church, Garden City, with Pastor Charles Nyamakope presiding.
There will be no visitation times.

Private interment will be in the Scott County Cemetery.
