Thomas W. Miller, Jr.

Thomas W. Miller, Jr., died on April 28, 2025. He was 96 years old.

Tom was born on Nov. 17, 1928, in Ellsworth, to Thomas W. and Doris Miller, Sr.

He grew up in Fowler where he graduated from Fowler High School in 1946.

Shortly afterward, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving during the Korean War.

On May 21, 1951, he married Donna Winter. During his stint in the Navy, they lived many places including Waukegan, Ill., and South Padre Island, Tex.

Following military service, Tom pursued a career in the oil and gas industry with Cities Service Oil and Gas starting in Sublette. In 1967, he and his family moved to Scott City.

Tom was known not only for his sharp mind, but for his empathy and unwavering integrity.

A lifelong dog lover, Tom shared a special bond with his faithful companions over the years - Tanny, Tippy, Bunny, Boomer, Foxy and Pepper, and even a cat, Lucy.

Tom is survived by his wife of 74 years, Donna; their three children, Nora Kite and husband Dale, Gary Miller and wife, Julie, and Lisa Cleaver and husband, Bill; a brother, Jim; seven grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one great-grandchild, Keaton Miller.

A private family service will be held to honor his life with a reception for family and friends following at Park Lane Nursing Home, Scott City, on Fri., May 2, 2:00-4:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to Shriner’s Hospital for Children or a local animal shelter of the donor’s choice.
