Twila Jean Rich

Twila Jean Rich, 60, died May 15, 2023, at her home in Plains.

Twila was born on March 24, 1963, in Garden City, the daughter of Elmer Snyder, Jr., and Darlene (Davis) Snyder.

Twila grew up in Scott City, moving there when she was 10-years-old. She lived in Colorado, Iowa, Maryland and Florida, but always found her way back to Kansas, where she called home.

Twila worked for the Department of Families and Social Services prior to her disability that left her with multiple amputations.

Twila married Jay Greif in August 1983. They later divorced.

Survivors include her son, Joshua Greif, and wife, Stacey; her parents; one brother, Larry Snyder, Tribune; sisters, Patricia Sayre and husband, Kevin, Leoti, and Paula Wenger and husband Eli, Hiawatha; three granddaughters, Chloe, Emma and Olivia, all of Alva, Fla.; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews that all loved her.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Elmer and Molly (Miller) Snyder, Sr., and Clarence and Vera (Rohrbough) Davis; uncles, Everett Farr, Earl Jenkins and Dan McGregor, and uncle and aunt, Ed and Mary Clark; and an infant brother, Michael.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sat., May 27, 2:00-4:00 p.m., at the Community Christian Church, 12th and Jackson, Scott City. Those attending are invited to join the family at Lake Scott where her ashes will be spread in one her favorite places as a child and an adult.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be written to Josh Merritt in care of Community Christian Church, 12th and Jackson, Scott City, Ks. 67876, to help with end of life expenses.
