Virginia Fern Koehn
Virginia Fern Koehn, 85, died Jan. 4, 2023, at Bethel Home in Montezuma.
Virginia was born Dec. 28, 1937, to Herman and Elsie (Dirks) Ratzlaff in Fredonia.
Virginia accepted the Lord as her Savior and was baptized on March 23, 1950, in Scott City.
Errol Koehn and Virginia Ratzlaff met each other when they both were 16-years-old. They married on Dec. 27, 1958, and just celebrated their 64th anniversary. He survives.
Other survivors include one daughter, Sheryl Tavares and husband, Tom, Orlando, Fla.; one son, Kelly Koehn and wife, Tracy, Prairie Village; brothers, Virgil Ratzlaff, Garry Ratzlaff and Galen Ratzlaff, all of Scott City, Delbert Ratzlaff, Grove, Okla., Leonard Ratzlaff, Tulsa, Okla., and Michael Ratzlaff, Russellville, Ark.; one sister, Glenda Ryan, Newton; her brothers-in-law, Manford Koehn of Fort Dodge, Michael Koehn and wife Beth, and Keith Koehn and wife Virginia, all of Montezuma; and one sister- in-law, Kathy Ratzlaff; three grandchildren, Sam Koehn, Mission, Kelsey Kuchera Mauck and husband Nathan, Overland Park, and Chase Kuchera, San Diego, Calif.; two greatgrandchildren, Sophie and Truman Mauck, Overland Park; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding Virginia in death were a son, Bradley (Born 1959, died 1960); her parents; her brothers, Merrel Ratzlaff, Chester Ratzlaff, Gerald Ratzlaff, Milford Ratzlaff and Melvin Ratzlaff; one sister, Joyce Ratzlaff Koehn; a sister-in-law, Freda Ratzlaff; and two brothersin- law, Jerald Koehn and Garry Koehn.
A graveside service was held at Montezuma Mennonite Cemetery on Jan. 10 with Minister Charles Schmidt presiding.
Memorials are suggested to the American Diabetes Association in care of Swaim Funeral Chapel, Box 607, Sublette, Ks. 67877.
