The good news coming out of the season opening tournament for the Scott City tennis team is that there’s a lot of tennis still to be played.
In his first competition of the season, Brendan Cook appeared in mid-season form in both the hurdle events at the Ulysses Invitational last Thursday.
After seeing a four run lead disappear over the final three innings, Scott City responded with clutch hitting in the bottom of the seventh inning for a 6-5 win over Ulysses on the home field Tuesday evening.
With his sights set on swimming at the collegiate level, Colborn Trout decided to attend Garden City High School last fall in order to compete on their swim team.
