The SCHS defense was rarely put to the test last season with a pair of hard throwing pitchers keeping the opposing lineup in check.
Even with half of the lineup consisting of first-time varsity players, the SCHS tennis team was able to open their season with a title at the Ellsworth Invitational last Thursday.
In a game that featured two of the area’s top pitchers, it was the SCHS girls who were unable to create any offense in a double-header loss to open the season at Holcomb on Tuesday.
