Behind an outstanding defensive effort that limited Lakin to just seven points in the first half, the Scott City girls earned a surprisingly easy 43-31 win over the Hi-Plains League tournament champions on Tuesday.
Scoring just four points in the first half, Jackson Rumford was well off the pace to meet his average as the Scott City boys were also locked in a much tougher-than-expected battle with Ulysses last Friday evening.
