The Scott County Historical Society held a “pocket change” fundraiser at Scott City Elementary School for the Maria DeGeer statue that will be unveiled in downtown Scott City later this year. The first grade class of Miriam Rodriguez (at left) took first place during the week-long contest, raising $120.03. The total raised by students in grades K-2 was $652.82.
