Don’t panic. It’s just a pandemic
When history reflects on the Trump administration - and for the sake of the American people that will begin on Nov. 4 - one overriding question will be whether Trump was criminally stupid or stupidly criminal.
What’s the difference? The former would mean that Trump is beyond completely ignorant and utterly oblivious to facts and reality. The latter would make this a Keystone Cop presidency.
The answer, as it turns out, is both which has been confirmed in the president’s own words that contributed to a forthcoming book from Bob Woodward of Watergate fame.
Perhaps the most startling admission from Trump is that, despite this administration’s incompetent response to the coronavirus, the president has known for months that this was more than just the flu, as he repeatedly claimed, and that it spreads by particles through the air so masks really would be effective.
