Funding the wall with GOP porn

Mexico’s failure to fulfill President Trump’s promise to pay for a border wall, and Nancy Pelosi’s pledge not to float Mexico a loan, has Republicans scrambling for solutions.

Arizona State Rep. Gail Griffin has introduced legislation which would require porn-blocking software to be installed on all electronic devices bought or sold in her state.

It would also establish a one-time $20 fee to disable the blocking device. The money raised, she says, will help sex abuse victims and fund the border wall.

We don’t know anything about the porn industry in Arizona, but with a population of 5.4 million, even if every citizen of the state was to remove the blocking device it would only raise $109 million - plus that would send a pretty disturbing message about Arizona.

However, Griffin’s proposal does raise the prospect of using nontaxpayer sources to fund Trump’s wall. And since Republican lawmakers seem to be the wall’s biggest proponents, it only stands to reason they should bear the biggest burden.
