Medicare for All: As unemployment climbs, a healthcare crisis looms
It wasn’t but a few months ago that moderate Democrats and Republicans were speaking in unity against Medicare for All. While Republicans argue that it’s unaffordable, many Democrats - including most presidential contenders - said that unions wanted to keep the healthcare plans they had negotiated so hard for over the years.
Guess what? It doesn’t matter what your union health care plan looks like when you’re unemployed.
In fact, an unemployed union member’s healthcare coverage looks no different than an unemployed (or employed) McDonald’s worker.
