Moving forward:

Scott City again shows a commitment to the future

Scott County residents can again take pride in their ability to have a shared vision for a better community with passage of a $25 million bond issue for major infrastructure upgrades within USD 466.

It wasn’t an easy decision as the 33 vote margin would testify. It’s never easy to dig deep into your pockets - even for projects that most people would agree are necessary and worthwhile. To repeatedly answer the bell when asked is a testimony to a strong belief in our future.

While many rural communities are just trying to figure how to get by - to just survive - we are continuing to set ourselves apart as a community with our eyes to the future.

That’s been confirmed by our recent history of addressing major infrastructure needs such as $14.75 million for Scott Community High School (2002), another $24 million for the Scott County Hospital (2008) and $5.75 million for Park Lane Nursing Home (2009).
