The old tax cut bait and switch

Only days from a potential “swing” election, Republicans have once again released the tax cut fairies. Donald Trump, out of thin air, began this week promising a ten percent “middle class” tax cut “very soon” and “before the election.”

And Kansan Kris Kobach, a Trump acolyte with less flair than his idol but perhaps, if barely, more judgment, is promising, if he’s elected governor, to reinstate the reckless, ill-planned Sam Brownback tax cuts that sent the state into a fiscal tailspin and earned Brownback the title of the nation’s most unpopular governor.
