Reflecting on America’s greatness

The last few weeks leading up to the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing have provided a much-needed reminder of how great this nation can be when it so chooses.

Watching film archives and documentaries of what led to putting a man on the moon offered a pleasant diversion from the rancid and mean-spirited political environment in which we live.

We can still remember watching Neil Armstrong’s “one small step for man” as he took the final step onto the lunar surface. We were sitting in front of a black and white TV (yes, they once existed) and not in the least way did it deter from the history-making moment.
