Common sense prevails in repeal of state’s tax cuts

The Kansas Legislature finally took the first step toward fiscal sanity this week when 88 state representatives and 27 state senators were able to override Gov. Brownback’s veto of a $1.2 billion tax increase.

Since passage of the tax cut plan in 2012, the governor’s “march to zero” has wrecked our budget, diminished our bond ratings and gutted our ability to provide essential services ranging from the funding of public education to maintaining our infrastructure.
