When character really does matter
For more than three years, Donald Trump has claimed there is a “Deep State” that initially tried to sabotage his campaign and since his election has been undermining his presidency.
But now it’s gotten personal.
Instead of dealing with Congressional Republicans who are too spineless to speak out against the president and Democrats who seem completely bewildered by a president who refuses to follow political or legal norms, it seems that Trump has finally met his match.
The Trump International Hotel in Washington, D.C., faces the prospect of being denied a liquor license because Donald Trump lacks “good character.” Citizens have the right to challenge who receives liquor licenses in the nation’s capital and an attempt by the hotel to have that challenge tossed out has been denied by the local liquor board.
After winning one of the greatest elections in history by one of the greatest Electoral College margins in history and with the greatest attendance at his inauguration in history, Trump can’t understand what’s preventing him from getting a liquor license.
