Who to believe?
With so much conflicting information available through social media and major media outlets, a familiar reaction we hear is: “Who are you supposed to believe?”
Though there are countless instances which can be referenced, we’ll focus on the latest COVID-19 task force briefing - the first in nearly two months - which was convened by the White House only because their efforts to downplay the coronavirus seem particularly disingenuous given the recent spike in cases. In fact, the more than 40,000 new cases reported on June 26 was the most in a single day since early April.
Interestingly enough, three of the worst hit states - Florida, Texas and Arizona - have Republican governors who have insisted for weeks that the coronavirus is a lot about nothing. They joined Trump in pretending the pandemic is behind us and, to no one’s surprise, that was largely the message delivered by Vice President Mike Pence during the task force briefing.
In fact, the briefing was one Pence lie after another.
