Eastridge Villas
A housing project that Katie Eisenhour says was seven years in the making has become a reality.
Eisenhour, director of the Scott County Development Committee, was among a large contingent of individuals representing the construction company, investors and officials from the state, county and city levels who were on hand for a ribbon cutting of Eastridge Villas senior housing project last Thursday afternoon.
During a trip to Nebraska, Eisenhour recalled seeing a senior housing complex and her father, Dan Weides, commenting, “There’s nothing like this in Scott City.”
That is no longer the case as construction is nearing completion on a $3.1 million project featuring 10 duplexes on Chestnut Street. Eight of the 20 apartments are currently occupied with four more to be completed in November, another four in mid-December, and the final four apartments ready for occupancy in mid-January.
