The women behind Whimmy diddle

Sorority’s annual event enables support for many community projects

Just mention arts and crafts show and one word comes to mind - Whimmydiddle.

An annual event that began 47 years ago has grown into one of the premier events - not just in Western Kansas, but across the state.

But one of the most anticipated weekends of the year - drawing thousands of shoppers and vendors to Scott City - doesn’t just happen.

Very few see the work that happens behind the scenes and perhaps even fewer are aware of how Whimmydiddle benefits Scott City throughout the year. It’s all made possible through the efforts of Alpha Omega Sorority which is preparing to sponsor its 44th arts and crafts event.
