‘I love this camp’
When the American Baptist Convention acquired 100 acres of land from the Ben Christy family in 1929, the mission was to provide a Western Kansas retreat.
For the past 90 years, the Baptist Church camp has been fulfilling that goal for youngsters and adults across Western Kansas.
“The property was purchased with dreams of improvements,” noted Phyllis See in a written history of the church camp.
Those dreams have been fulfilled over the years as the camp continues to provide a site for church-related camps as well as other groups, along with being an ideal location for family gatherings and a retreat for organizations.
