2 separate meth busts lead to five arrests

4 arrested for selling within 1,000 ft. of school

Two separate drug raids led to five arrests involving the possession of methamphetamine and other related charges within Scott County on Dec. 30.

Both incidents were unrelated, according to Scott City Police Chief David Post.

What began as a domestic violence incident led to the arrest and drug charges being filed against Heath Briggs, 22, of 471 N. Kansas Road.

A female had gone to the Law Enforcement Center requesting standby assistance from an officer while she removed her possessions from the residence.

Police Officer Tad Eubanks began asking a few questions and learned there may have been a domestic violence incident the previous night. He also had reason to believe there might be narcotics in the home.
