2019-20 enrollment holds steady in Scott County district
An expected bump in USD 466 (Scott County) enrollment didn’t occur as the district’s numbers remained nearly steady compared to last year.
“I thought we’d be a little bit higher, maybe 10 to 15 students,” says Supt. Jamie Rumford.
He said that while Sept. 20 is considered the “official” enrollment for the state, particularly when it comes to district classifications, the count could still change slightly as final reports are completed.
The biggest change in head count occurred at Scott City Middle School which saw an increase of 11 students in grades 5-8. The ongoing building expansion and renovation will prove beneficial for those grade levels which are the largest in the district.
The eighth grade class has 90 students - making it the largest - followed closely by the fifth grade class with 87 students.
