3 more file for BOE, Mon. deadline

The USD 466 board of education has drawn the most interest from candidates filing in advance of the Monday deadline.

Adding their names to the list of board hopefuls is newcomer Scott Noll, along with incumbents Lynnette Robinson and Jon Berning.

Andy Trout and Steve Kucharik had previously filed for the board.

With recent resignations there are five positions open on the board. All positions are elected at-large.

Anyone interested in filling one of the two board vacancies created by resignations until new members take office in January can contact the USD 466 administration building (872-7600) for application procedures.

2 Council Openings

Candidates have filed for only two of the four openings on the Scott City Council.

Barbara Wilkinson has filed for re-election to the Ward 2 council position and Craig Richards has filed for a full term from Ward 4.

City council members serve four year terms.

Other council members whose terms are expiring this year include Bo Parkinson (Ward 1) and Perry Nowak (Ward 3).

Mayor Everett Green’s term is also ending. The mayor is elected every two years.

Renee Cure has filed for election as city treasurer.

The filing deadline for council and school board positions is noon on Mon., June 3.
