3% wage hike for Scott Co. employees

Scott County Commissioners have approved a three percent pay increase for county employees.

Each department is provided a three percent increase in their overall budget for wages. Department heads can distribute that money at their discretion, giving employees up to a three percent pay hike

If a department head feels an employee should get more than a three percent increase that is subject to commission approval.

However, there is no guarantee an employee will receive a three percent increase. That’s based on evaluations by each department head, says Commission Chairman Jim Minnix.

Sheriff Glenn Anderson appeared before the commission to request an exception for deputy Jay Daniel who joined the department as a jailer in 2015 and last year became a deputy.
