$400,000 grant provides for major upgrade at Lake Scott
Lake Scott State Park will get a major upgrade in its electrical system for recreational vehicles and campers through a $400,000 grant.
The grant includes $200,000 through a land and water conservation fund administered by the federal government which was matched by the Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks and Tourism.
When completed, there will be 64 50-amp electrical hookups at the two major camping areas in the park. There are currently 57 utility sites, but only 18 of those are equipped with 50 amps.
