City gets unexpected $59k ‘gift’ for airport
Scott City taxpayers received an unexpected $59,480 gift from the Federal Aviation Administration and Goodland.
The city council was informed during Monday’s meeting that Goodland had $59,480 in “banked” FAA funds for airport improvements that it couldn’t use before the end of the fiscal year. The funding could either be returned to the FAA or could be applied to another airport project.
Since bids have been accepted and the process initiated to construct an eight-bay T-hangar at the Scott City Airport, the Goodland funds could be transferred to that project.
