Commission doesn’t want ownership of SW School

Scott County’s insurance provider has indicated its willingness to pay for repairs to Shallow Water School, but with the stipulation that the county become owner of the property.

That’s a stipulation which found no interest around the county commission table during their meeting on Tuesday.

The building, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, has been owned jointly by the Lake and Valley township boards since being deeded to them by the Scott County school district in 2007.
