Committee nixes plans for Beefiesta, tasting booths

Citing additional costs related to the coronavirus, along with other health concerns, the Beefiesta Committee decided in a meeting last Thursday afternoon to cancel the free barbeque and tasting booths in conjunction with this year’s Scott County Fair.

The two events draw the largest crowds at the Fair each year. This would have been the 45th anniversary celebration for the Beefiesta barbeque.

Last Thursday was the deadline for ordering meat for the two events, says Chamber of Commerce Director Lindsay Singley, who is also on the Beefiesta Committee.
