Early count up slightly in USD 466
The preliminary head count is up in USD 466 (Scott County) and, for the first time in three years it carries financial significance for the district.
Even while enrollment was climbing the past two years it had no impact on state aid which had been frozen by the state legislature at the 2014-15 level. In years past, basic state aid was tied to full-time enrollment.
The current enrollment of 1,022 is an increase of 80 students from the 2014-15 school year - if current numbers hold up. That has contributed to an increase in state funding of about $873,000.
