GWMD annual meeting in Leoti Tuesday
The latest groundwater data and information about water conservation programs will be among issues discussed during the annual Western Kansas Groundwater Management District meeting to be held on Tues., Feb. 13, 1:30 p.m., at the Wichita County Community Center, Leoti.
The district includes Scott, Wichita, Lane, Greeley and Wallace counties.
The program will include a water model that can project potential groundwater savings by reductions in irrigation usage. Brownie Wilson, who is with the Kansas Geological Survey, will discuss the model and its application across a county or in more isolated areas.
